There Was an Old Crow...

...who lived in a tree.


Oh say, that's not a crow.  Right.  Each year a spin-off group from my guild names a theme and does small art quilts for a display at the annual quilt show.  Last year we did fabric collaged fish in the Susan Carlson tradition which accounts for the above picture!  This year it is to make a small circular quilt in the Laura Wasilowski tradition as featured in issue 45 of Quilting Arts.

And this is mine.  The crow was further inspired by the article by Kelli Nina Perkins in issue 15 of Cloth Paper Scissors.  I just love the graphic quality of this quilt.  The circular edge of my planet was shaded using a blue water soluble crayon...as was the sun!  I submitted this as this week's journal quilt over at Three Creative Studios!
